In 2012, Nicole Collier made history as the first woman elected to represent House District 95 in Tarrant County. Since then, she has been re-elected seven times, earning the trust of her community through unwavering dedication, bold leadership, and a vision rooted in equity and progress.
ollier's impact reaches far beyond her district. In the 86th Texas Legislature, she became the first woman in Texas history to serve as Chair of the Criminal Jurisprudence Committee—a role never before held by a woman since the committee’s founding in 1879. Under her leadership, she advanced meaningful reforms in criminal justice, championed fairness in the legal system, and gave voice to communities long overlooked.

She continues to shape the future of Texas through her work on the Public Health Committee, where she fights for access to quality care, mental health resources, and community wellness. In the 88th Legislature, she was appointed to the Culture, Recreation, and Tourism Committee, where she uplifts Texas’s diverse heritage and promotes inclusive growth across the state.
Representative Collier is a proud member of the Texas Legislative Black Caucus, and serves on multiple caucuses that reflect her commitment to justice, opportunity, and representation. As a member of the Texas Indigent Defense Commission, she works to ensure that every Texan—regardless of income—has access to fair legal representation.
